Background
This website provides information on the highway works being carried out on West Hendon Broadway and surrounding areas. The work is planned to support the wider Hendon Riverside, which is a transformative estate regeneration project that aims to revitalize the area and create a vibrant, sustainable community.
The masterplan is a significant estate regeneration project providing over 2,000 new homes on slopes overlooking the Welsh Harp Reservoir. It aims to reconnect a once isolated site with the surrounding streets and spaces.
The development is being delivered in six phases over a period of nearly 20 years, beginning in the early 2010s. Significant highway works are proposed on the A5 corridor and adjoining roads to mitigate the impact of the development and to allow the stopping up of Perryfield Way.
